Testech Group: Where Tech, Trust, and Sustainability Converge
Elmer Lapeña
Testech Group is a Philippine-based company that delivers integrated engineering and facilities services designed to help businesses operate more efficiently. With a strong focus on innovation and client collaboration, Testech acts as an extension of its customers’ operations, tailoring solutions to meet evolving needs. Through strategic partnerships with global leaders like Schneider Electric, Daikin, and sustainability collaborators like TechShake, Testech continues to drive operational excellence and environmental responsibility across sectors. With that, let’s dive deeper into its mission and innovation with its President and Chief Operating Officer, Elmer Lapeña.
Can you tell us the story behind Testech’s founding and how it has evolved over the years?
Testech was founded with a clear and focused mission: to provide high-precision visual inspection services specifically for the semiconductor and electronics industries. As we grew, we recognized additional needs within the industry and expanded our offerings—first into tape and reel services, including operations in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines and in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and later into facilities management. Each step of our growth has been guided by one principle: responding to our customers’ evolving needs.
Today, that same customer-centric mindset continues to drive our innovation. We see a growing demand for integrated engineering and facility solutions, especially as companies navigate increasing sustainability requirements. At Testech, we are committed to providing forward-looking technology and service solutions that not only meet but anticipate the challenges our partners face in an ever-changing industrial landscape.
For those unfamiliar, how would you describe what Testech does and the industries you serve?
At Testech, we often describe ourselves simply: we're in the business of helping other businesses run better. That philosophy is at the heart of everything we do. Our tagline reflects this commitment to operational efficiency, and we offer a broad range of services to support it—from semiconductor back-end processing, inspection, and assembly, to facilities maintenance, managed services, and even carbon emissions tracking, which we recently integrated through our collaboration with TechShake.
We work across a wide variety of industries including semiconductors, electronics, automotive, medical, logistics, hospitals, and food manufacturing. In many cases, we function as an extension of our clients' organizations, providing them with innovative solutions and a deep commitment to continuous improvement. When clients come to us with a challenge, we don't just offer what's available—we brainstorm, adapt, and even create better solutions to meet their needs. That's what drives our team forward every day.

Testech has shown an interest in sustainability. What specific green initiatives or energy-efficient solutions have you implemented so far?
Sustainability is something we take seriously at Testech, especially when it comes to our facilities services. While the manufacturing support side of our business—like those for semiconductors and electronics—is largely driven by strict industry standards, facilities management gives us more flexibility to innovate. Every facility is different, with unique combinations of HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical setups, and compressed air systems. That’s why there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. What we focus on first is establishing a reliable measurement system—because without data, there’s no way to drive real improvement.
We’ve partnered with Schneider Electric to offer power monitoring systems, both on-site and cloud-based, to help our clients collect meaningful energy data. Once they have visibility, we can help them identify and implement energy efficiency solutions to address areas of high energy usage. These range from HVAC and compressed air optimization to power quality analysis, thermographic studies, as well as high-efficiency lighting systems. The possibilities are endless as technology keeps on advancing, and that's what excites us. Through our collaboration with TechShake and our shared passion for innovation, we’re constantly exploring new technologies and ideas to help our clients become more sustainable. Conversations around efficiency often lead to fresh ideas, and we love being part of that discovery process.
Can you share a recent project or success story that highlights Testech’s impact in the industry?
One recent example that highlights the kind of impact we strive to make at Testech is our work in implementing cutting-edge energy and sustainability solutions across industries. We're accredited by a number of global technology leaders like Schneider Electric, ebmpapst, Daikin, Asuene, ColdPlus, CEJN, AtmosAir, uHoo, and Canon which allows us to bring best-in-class innovations to our clients. For instance, we're one of the accredited partners of Asuene, the leading carbon accounting platform today, and we help companies manage and reduce their emissions footprint. We also offer advanced HVAC solutions and distribute technologies like AtmosAir’s bipolar ionization systems to improve indoor air quality. On the lighting front, we've seen a major shift in LED technology — from sub-100 lumens per watt to 150 and even above 200, as the technology quickly approaches what is known to be physical limit of 350 lumens per watt. That’s a game-changer for energy efficiency, and we're helping clients make the most of these advances. This means that many LED lighting solutions implemented a few years ago, may be using less efficient LEDs and can be now replaced with brighter LEDs that use less energy and generate less heat.
What are your priorities for Testech in the next 3 to 5 years?
Over the next three to five years, our priority at Testech is to strengthen our role as the most reliable outsourcing partner for our clients. Unlike companies that produce their own products, our core business is built around servicing the needs of others—helping them operate more efficiently, sustainably, and successfully. We continuously adapt to emerging technologies to meet the evolving demands of our clients across various industries, and we take pride in being able to respond with flexibility and innovation.
