Thanks to the advancement of technology, booking apps can bring your needs right at your doorstep. After all, these apps are dedicated to bringing you services without compromising your convenience and time. Ride-hailing apps and delivery apps two of the most popular forms of booking apps that are commonly used in today's market. But entrepreneurs have found ways to provide different types of services through this platform. The market for it is big because consumers want to avail services immediately without leaving the comfort of their home or office. This local startup provides users the opportunity to book and obtain medical services through its app. AIDE is here to help you.

The birth of AIDE

Paolo Bugayong has always wanted to become an entrepreneur. He had always been passionate about starting a business. But after graduating from Ateneo de Manila University in 2003 with a degree in Economics, he felt like he was still immature to be one. So, he went to the University of California, Berkley to study Finance for two years and have a taste of Silicon Valley. After finishing his postgraduate studies, he ventured to financial consulting where he ended up working for a conglomerate. After working in the corporate world, he finally decided to pursue his calling. But he felt like he was missing a purpose. He was waiting for the right time, and he asked himself, “What am I going to do? What is the business I want to pursue?”

He searched for answers, and he found one through his grandmother. During March 2016, he and his family were eating lunch when suddenly his grandmother needed immediate medical attention. They needed a nurse or a doctor urgently, but they could not find one. That was Paolo’s eureka moment. He said, “Why not do something to link Filipinos to medical professionals?”

Siblings Patrick, Paolo, and Pamela Bugayong, the founders of Aide

The incident happened during the height of Uber, so taking inspiration from the popular ride-hailing app, he decided to come up with an app that enables users to book the services of medical professionals within a matter of minutes. With the help of his brother Patrick Bugayong’s medical expertise and his sister Pamela’s corporate proficiency, the siblings got together to create Aide.

At your doorstep

AIDE is a mobile application that allows users to arrange a non-emergency, home-based medical care and examination with its partnered medical professionals. With the goal of accessibility in mind, AIDE promises users immediate medical attention without the hassle of going to the traffic and booking for an appointment. Users can use its detailed platform to book consultations with doctors, avail nursing services such as administration of injections or long-stay care, arrange physical therapy sessions, conduct laboratory testing, and order medication online.

It was Paolo's goal to provide attainable and convenient medical services to Filipino households while creating employment opportunities to those working in the medical sector. The app has served those in need since its launch, including noticeable names. It proves how convenient it is to use. As such, it has received an investment from Ayala Healthcare Holding last 2018, ensuring that it will continue to provide medical services to those who are in need. After all, it is just one tap away.
