In 2012, Engr. Allen Pilares won first place in the Department of Energy’s E-trike Design competition. He used the prize money as starting fund and co-founded Rethink Tech Inc. together with his engineering and design peers. The primary focus of the company is to develop their own electric tricycle coinciding the government’s plan of introducing e-trikes in the transportation sector. The company rolled on to develop other technologies for EV’s such as battery packs, battery management systems (BMS), controller units, and charging stations.
In 2015, the company gave birth to JustGO. Represented by Engr. Pilares together with Evan Quinay and Engr. Duke Amuan, the team was selected as one of the top 10 finalists out of 1,000+ applicants of the Ideaspace Foundation nationwide startup competition. They received funding and undergone the acceleration program which included mentorship from different industry experts and entrepreneurship development program in a top management school.
JustGO is currently in development of “Project Morph”, a solution to slow adoption of electric vehicle growth in the country.
